it’s a great networking tool and to give it up would be extremely detrimental to the network I’ve built. but all the creepy things that come with it are so disgusting. a lot of people can connect with me elsewhere, but a lot of people don’t have another way to view my work all in one place…
it’s demeaning because it’s public. I respect if someone is into referring to someone as a certain name in a relationship, but I don’t even know this dude.
(I know some people probably think I shouldn’t accept friend requests from strangers, but in terms of networking, a lot of these people have mutual friends in the industry and I need exposure. I look at people’s profiles before accepting, but it doesn’t always mean they won’t be creeps.)
